Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria effect on maize growth and microbial biomass in a chromium-contaminated soil

چکیده

ABSTRACT Chromium contamination in soils affects plant growth and this metal can accumulate plants tissues. In addition, Cr affect soil microbial biomass activity. On the other hand, growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) protect against metals and, at same time, promote could alleviate adverse effects on biomass. This study evaluated five PGPR maize growth, accumulation a Cr-contaminated soil. Five (LCC04, LCC41, LCC69, LCC81 IPA403), isolated from under permanent application of composted tannery sludge contaminated with Cr, were inoculated grown (+Cr) without (–Cr) Cr. soil, LCC41 promoted highest maize, while LCC04 contributed N accumulation. The shoots accumulated less LCC81, to roots. translocation was IPA403, reduce translocation. conclusion, be effective as inoculants respectively,

The Effect of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) on Germination, Seedling Growth and Yield of Maize

The effect of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on seed germination, seedling growth and yield of field grown maize were evaluated in three experiments. In these experiments six bacterial strains include P.putida strain R-168, P.fluorescens strain R-93, P.fluorescens DSM 50090, P.putida DSM291, A.lipoferum DSM 1691, A.brasilense DSM 1690 were used. Results of first study showed seed I...

Potential of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria and Chemical Fertilizers on Soil Enzymes and Plant Growth

The present investigation deals with the role of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria and chemical fertilizers alone or in combination on urease, invertase and phosphatase activities of rhizospheric soil and also on general impact on growth of safflower cvv. Thori and Saif-32. The PGPR (Azospirillum brasilense and Azotobacter vinelandii) were applied at 10cells/mL as seed inoculation prior to s...

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria: A Critical Review

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are naturally occurring soil bacteria that aggressively colonize plant roots and benefit plants by providing growth promotion. Inoculation of crop plants with certain strains of PGPR at an early stage of development improves biomass production through direct effects on root and shoots growth. Inoculation of ornamentals, forest trees, vegetables, and a...

Plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR): a review

Soil microbial communities are often difficult to characterize, mainly because of their immense phenotypic and genotypic diversity. In the last ten years, a number of PGPR that have been identified has seen a great boost, mainly because the role of the rhizosphere as an ecological unit has gained importance in the functioning of the biosphere and also because mechanisms of action of PGPR have b...

Co-inoculation Effect of Rhizobia and Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on Common Bean Growth in a Low Phosphorus Soil

Nitrogen (N) fixation through legume-Rhizobium symbiosis is important for enhancing agricultural productivity and is therefore of great economic interest. Growing evidence indicates that other soil beneficial bacteria can positively affect symbiotic performance of rhizobia. Nodule endophytic plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) were isolated from common bean nodules from Nakuru County in...
